ASIPEL

(Hazard Identification Assistant)

What is ASIPEL?

{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=
ASIPEL (Hazard Identification Assistant) is a computer-assisted system for conducting and documenting process risk analysis studies. It implements the main techniques for hazard identification and risk assessment: HAZOP, WHAT IF, HAZID, and Preliminary Hazard Analysis.

It also supports LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis) for the protection layers of the identified scenarios.

ROBUSTNESS

The software offers complete robustness and flexibility, allowing customization according to user requirements and preferences. It also provides connectivity with other software used for the analysis of SIF (Safety Instrumented Functions).

PLATFORMS

It operates on Microsoft Windows 32/64-bit systems, supported by versions NT / 2000 / XP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10.

It is multilingual, both in the interface and in the databases. Currently, versions are available in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Italian.

EVALUATION

It includes several risk evaluation methods (two-dimensional matrices, CEL method, and LOPA method). It also allows the use of multiple matrices for each type of impact.

Risk assessment can be performed in three stages: initial or intrinsic (without considering protections), current (considering existing protections), and residual (if additional protections are added) for each scenario.

These are separated into impacts on people, the environment, and economic losses.

DATA

Currently, it offers advanced data entry and consistency features, such as: auto-suggestions, inline spell checker, auto-complete with acronyms or mnemonics commonly used in the industry, element copying, data import from previous studies, and more.

PREVIOUS PROJECTS

It also allows revalidation of previous projects in case of changes in evaluation criteria, new scenario characterization, or a different workgroup or documentation.

REPORTS

All ASIPEL reports are editable and generated in Microsoft Word, supporting versions Word 2003 / 2007 / 2010 / 2013 (32-bit).

  • Basic methodology sheet (scenarios)
  • Derived Activities Report
  • Summary of Derived Activities
  • Node/System/Set Definitions
  • Project Data
  • Statistics
  • List of Documents Used
  • List of Participants
  • Identified/Proposed SIFs
  • Identified Protections
  • LOPA Method Sheets
  • Quantification Matrices
  • LOPA Frequency Table
  • Risk Assessment Matrices

MORE ADVANTAGES

A simple user interface and powerful tools are not the only guarantees of this program — ASIPEL users enjoy many additional benefits!

Origin: This software was developed entirely in Argentina, with local support, ensuring smooth communication without dealing with foreign intermediaries.

Acceptance: ASIPEL has been approved and adopted by many companies in the industry.

Support and Training: ISP Ingeniería y Seguridad de Procesos provides information through its website (ISP-Ingenieria.com) and also organizes seminars and training courses to help users take full advantage of ASIPEL’s many features.
